Every year the NYFC depends on volunteers from family members and friends of our league’s participants to help with field maintenance and to make game days possible. The NYFC greatly appreciates the help provided by those who have volunteered in the past and look forward to your eagerness to help in the future. In an effort to encourage volunteering, we implemented a volunteer program as defined below.
- A $150.00 deposit check will be collected at equipment/uniform handouts. Uniforms will not be given to athletes who fail to submit their deposit check. The check will be held until your volunteer time is confirmed. This is a refundable deposit that will be returned to you for completing the required volunteer time.
- This deposit will be per family, not per participant.
- Each family will be assigned an ID number. When signing up on the Time to Sign Up website, be sure to include this number and your child’s name in the required field.
- Coaches for each football team and cheer squad, and Executive Board Members are exempt from the volunteer program. Assistant coaches will still need to submit a deposit. Their participation as an assistant coach will fulfill their families volunteer obligation, unless the Head coach determines otherwise. All other board members, team moms and parents need to provide a deposit.
- You must sign up for and complete 4 duties to get your $150.00 deposit back.
- These duties must include 2 donations of food/supplies AND 2 donations of your time during one or more of our home games.
- ALL donations MUST BE documented in order for you to receive credit. Please make sure to include your family's ID number when signing in. If your donation of supplies or time is not properly documented, you will not receive credit. It is your responsibility to make sure you are properly given credit at the time that services or donations are rendered.
- You will be notified via email when volunteer signups are open. NYFC will provide a signup sheet for events where volunteers are needed at www.timetosignup.com/nyfcvolunteer/ and this link will be emailed out on August 1st to all registered families.
- You will receive a confirmation email when you sign up and an email reminder within a week prior to the
function you signed up for.
We ask that you only sign up for 4 duties until everyone has a chance to sign up. If there are open spots available after 9 AM on August 20th, you may volunteer for more than 4 spots and receive an additional $10.00 credit for every donation of TIME ONLY toward your 2025 registration fees for each additional spot worked. (Your total credits cannot exceed your registration fees for next season).
There are volunteer opportunities for field maintenance, practices, game days and events/fundraisers. If you have questions about your duties, please see the contact person listed in the column header on the on-line sign up page.
After you complete the 4 required duties your $150.00 check will be voided. If you would like the check back, please contact NYFC at[email protected].
- If you have not signed up and completed your 4 duties by the last home game, your $150.00 check will be cashed on November 1, 2024 and the NYFC will consider this money a buyout fee.
- The volunteer can be any responsible person over the age of 16 capable of performing the duties signed up for. For example, you could bring friends, neighbors or family for one game and fill the 4 spots needed to receive your deposit back.
- It is your responsibility to check back to the on-line sign up page to verify that your attendance has been recorded correctly and that you are getting credit for the time you worked.
- If an emergency would arise that would prevent you from attending your scheduled volunteer time please contact the person noted in the column header on the on-line sign up page as soon as possible.
The program is not a fundraiser and is not intended to raise money for the NYFC. This is a program designed to encourage volunteers to sign up and help. The NYFC fully expects to return all deposit money collected to volunteers who put the time in. If that occurs, that means the program worked as intended. This program is not out of line with programs other local organizations already use. We look forward to working with all of you and making the 2024 season another success.
